2005 RESULTS


John and Tony Manchester, Roseville, Kingsvale, NSW, with their Corriedale grand champion ram.

The Roseville stud of Tony and John Manchester, Kingsvale, NSW vied for major honours with the Gundowringa stud of Jeff and Charlie Prell, Crookwell, NSW.

Roseville finished with champion ram, reserve ewe and Peter Taylor Group while Gundowringa had champion ewe and reserve ram.

Judge, Jim Gough, Cowra, Branxholme, Vic, commented on the quality presentation from four exhibitors.

Mr. Prell commented on the ability of Corriedale ewes to shear around five kilograms of wool worth more than $4 per kg and at the same time to throw 130% of lambs able to slot into the prime lamb market.

About the Breed

The Corriedale was simultaneously evolved in both Australia and New Zealand about 1874 by selectively breeding from cross bred progeny of pure Merino and Lincoln sheep.
