Thirteen Corriedale exhibitors entered 106 sheep for the 2001 ASBA Show on July 21, under Judges, David Gibson, Struan, Lismore, Vic., who judged rams in the wool while Graham Day, Allendale, Bordertown, SA., judged the ewes in the wool and the shorn classes.

The Supreme Champion Corriedale ram of Oliver Guthrie, Rich Avon, Donald, Vic., went on to win the Supreme Australian Strong Wool Exhibit (ram or ewe) from nine other Breeds.

About the Breed

The Corriedale was simultaneously evolved in both Australia and New Zealand about 1874 by selectively breeding from cross bred progeny of pure Merino and Lincoln sheep.
